Product details

Attentive observers last encountered the Swiss photographer Martin Linsi in 2010 at the Architecture Biennale in Venice, where he was awarded the DAM Architectural Book Award for his documentation of the bridge constructions by Jürg Conzett, selected from 193 applicants. His work "Journey Through the Canton of Schwyz," presented in 2005 as a result of an official commission from the Schwyz government, also received wide acclaim. These two works are examples of a nearly 40-year career in photography, during which Linsi remarkably remained true to himself and developed a distinctly recognizable style. The precision and tranquility of his images seem to give them a somewhat still-life quality at first glance; however, the moment is captured in such an unobtrusive yet suggestive manner that upon a second look, one recognizes the essence of a story that invites deeper reflection.
