The first part theoretically explores the assurance using literature, commentaries, case law, and journal articles to gain a solid understanding of Austrian assurance. This includes the legal basis and definition, the distinction from seizure, the prerequisites for admissibility, the types of assurance, the process from the order to the executing personnel, and the implementation of assurance as well as its legal protection. Building on this, the second part addresses crime scene work to present the topic practically. Subsequently, the study of traces is discussed. This section covers the definition of traces, the types and securing of traces, and the process of investigation. Finally, the conclusion of the assurance is described, with a particular focus on the return and seizure.
