Product details

Liechtenstein, Hans-Adam II. Prince Hans-Adam II was born in 1945 as the eldest son of Prince Franz Josef II of and to Liechtenstein and Princess Gina. He attended the Schottengymnasium in Vienna and the gymnasium in Zuoz, followed by studies at the University of St. Gallen, where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in business and economics. On July 30, 1967, he married Countess Marie Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau. The couple has four children. From 1970, his father entrusted him with the reorganization and management of the princely family's assets, and in 1984 he appointed him as his deputy. After the death of his father, Prince Hans-Adam II assumed the regency on November 13, 1989. Under Hans-Adam's leadership, Liechtenstein joined the United Nations in 1990 and the European Economic Area in 1995. In a referendum in 2003, the people of Liechtenstein voted in favor of his proposal for a constitutional amendment that strengthened the powers of democracy and the monarchy. On August 15, 2004, Prince Hans-Adam II appointed his eldest son, Hereditary Prince Alois, as his deputy to prepare him for his succession to the throne. Hans-Adam is now increasingly focused on managing the assets of the princely family.
