This third volume of the series is dedicated to the locomotive classes 54 to 59. Included in these were all freight train tender locomotives of the regional railways, except for the old C-couplers compiled in class 53. During World War II, additional freight locomotives from the annexed neighboring states, which had been taken over by the Reichsbahn, as well as some export locomotives that were no longer delivered to their destination stations, were added.
