The stolen years
German, 1992Product details
In a first, theoretical part, this study contains a detailed examination of current research developments in the fields of biographical research, everyday history, and interview research. In particular, the significance of the interview as a literary genre is discussed in depth. In a second part, the insights from the theoretical foundation are applied to the documentation, commentary, and analysis of approximately 260 interview testimonies about the experience of World War II. The narrative material gradually comes together to form a unique way of presenting history, where the structure and content are primarily determined by the perspective of subjective war experience.
