Before his church buildings in Venice, his palace constructions in Vicenza, and his bridge designs in the Veneto, Andrea Palladio created architectural guidelines for Palladianism with his 40 villa designs in the Veneto, whose influence extends into modern times. With his villa projects developed from 1537 to 1572, he established the models for the country house and garden culture of the modern era. At the same time, he provided architectural expressions for representative buildings with porticos and classical elements that shape our understanding of republican architecture. The White House and the Capitol in North America, as well as the European cultural buildings of museums, theaters, and libraries, are unimaginable without the influence of Palladio's villas.
