Lisa Jewell was born in London. Her first novel, Ralph's Party, was published in 1999 and became the best-selling debut novel of the year. Since then, she has published another sixteen novels, including a series of dark psychological thrillers, such as The Girls and Then She Was Gone (both selected by Richard and Judy for their book club). Lisa is an author who has made it to the New York Times Top Ten and reached number one on the Sunday Times list, and her works have been published in over twenty-five languages worldwide. She lives in North London with her husband, two daughters, two cats, two guinea pigs, and the best dog in the world.
