Product details
In recent years, climbing has rapidly evolved. Initially a niche sport, the current high number of active climbers highlights the entry of this activity into mainstream sports. Therapists and educators have also developed various approaches in recent years to utilize the unique aspects of climbing for their patients and clients. Particularly, children suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) could benefit from this. To investigate how and what progress can be achieved through this sport, four children with ADHD were supported with a focus on climbing over six weeks. This book explains the theoretical foundations of climbing, perception, sensory integration, and the causes of ADHD, with a particular emphasis on perception.
