Tics often occur in childhood and adolescence. They can be both motor and vocal in nature. The present THICS program describes the treatment of tic disorders and related conditions in children and adolescents. After a description of the disorder and an overview of the diagnostic approach, the manual user-orientedly presents the implementation of the 10 components of the treatment program. The therapy program focuses on problem-focused therapy for tic symptoms. The core of the approach is the training of response reversal. This includes, among other things, a self-awareness training, where the patient becomes aware of their tics and their processes, and a counter-movement training, where the patient learns to develop counter-movements intended to prevent the execution of a tic.
