In the second volume of this extensive three-volume work "The History of Upper Swabia in the 19th and 20th Centuries," the historical development of Upper Swabia is examined during the period between the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 and the end of the Second German Empire in the autumn of 1918. For the first time, an attempt is made to present the region between the Swabian Jura, the Iller, and Lake Constance as a distinct historical landscape based on a broad foundation of sources and taking relevant literature into account.
