Product details

Louisenthal, a subsidiary of the technology group Giesecke & Devrient, is an internationally recognized manufacturer of banknote and security paper as well as security films. Central banks and ministries from more than 100 countries rely on the high-quality products from Louisenthal. In 2014, Louisenthal celebrates its 50th anniversary. Its founder, Siegfried Otto, recognized the need to produce banknote paper for the Deutsche Mark in Germany to become independent from paper supplies from abroad for banknote production. In 1964, he founded the Louisenthal paper mill, which within a few years was already supplying paper for the printing of the Deutsche Mark. The close connection between the company's history and the development of the banknote into a high-tech product is illustrated by ten thematically organized exhibits.
