The Reformation windows in the Protestant Town Church of Ravensburg, which uniquely depict the most important figures of the Reformation, are a fascinating document from the 19th century. They were created in 1862 by the stained glass artist Ludwig Mittermaier from Lauingen. In a two-year project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Culture and Media and the state of Baden-Württemberg, the stained glass artworks were examined, researched, and exemplary conserved and restored. Conservators, historians, art historians, theologians, and natural scientists were involved in this interdisciplinary project and present their findings in this volume. With this, the State Office for Monument Preservation continues its efforts to research and preserve 19th-century stained glass.
