In 1846, various authors identified ideological factions in the constitutional Saxon two-chamber parliament. The pre-March parliamentary negotiations were primarily interpreted not as conflicts of social groups, but in party-political terms. The study investigates whether and how members of the honoratiores parliament occasionally united into ideologically shaped groups, what differences existed between the two antagonistic groups - the liberal and conservative representatives - and how they cooperated with individuals outside the parliament. Special attention is given to the Conservatives, who formed the largest group in the parliament as a phenomenon that emerged later and was more parliamentary in nature.
