Pascal Chevrier is fed up with city life in Paris and takes a job as a village gendarme in the Luberon region of Provence. However, instead of enjoying rosé and baguettes on ancient stone walls at sunset, he finds himself dealing with the murder of an American real estate mogul. The investigation leads him deep into the truffle trade scene, which seems to stop at nothing and puts Pascal in a highly precarious situation.
