After his return from a stay in the USA, Alexander Henneberg is kidnapped by the Commissariat 10 at Frankfurt Airport. There is no ransom demand. The LKA from Wiesbaden gets involved. The large-scale search for the smart commissioner, which is extended to the Frankfurt area and the entire Wetterau region, initially proves unsuccessful. The colleagues from K 10, Commissioners Cosima von Mittelstedt, Eberstädter, and Jüngling, begin to investigate on their own. Joining them is the rough-haired dachshund Erdmann, who misses his owner. By chance, a passerby stumbles upon the kidnapped Henneberg. In the attempt to rescue the commissioner, they and her Labrador disappear without a trace.
