Takanari demands that Haine choose between him and his brother Shizumasa. She then opens his mysterious envelope, the contents of which finally shed light on the situation: Haine realizes that Takanari is the illustrator of the picture book from her childhood and the one she loves. She wants to tell him, but accidentally directs her confession to his twin brother instead. Shizumasa denounces Takanari as his "shadow walker" and has him taken away by Toya. Additionally, he assures Haine that he will soon announce their engagement.
