The Tour de Suisse - the largest sporting event in Switzerland - is celebrating its 75th anniversary. In the late 1920s, there were plans for a Swiss cycling tour. The Tour de France had already started in 1903, and the Giro d'Italia had its inaugural edition in 1909. However, it wasn't until 1933 that the first Tour de Suisse took place, marking the 50th anniversary of the SRB (now known as Swiss Cycling). The Swiss tour was an incredible success from its very first edition, and it has not lost any of its popularity to this day.
