Product details
Michael Höhne examines the tourist understanding of nature and thereby pursues the questions of what recreation in nature looks like and how nature is practically produced and communicatively processed. To this end, he undertakes an interdisciplinary historical and systematic reconstruction of semantics of nature and applies these to tourism as a medium of experiencing nature. In a qualitative-empirical study, he analyzes the appeal of experiencing and perceiving nature using two examples, the vacation destination Hawai'i and the English Garden in Munich.
