Many behavioral abnormalities, developmental disorders, and child and adolescent psychiatric conditions are associated with a deficit in social skills. This deficiency is considered a developmental psychopathological risk factor. Therefore, training such skills represents an important and helpful pedagogical-therapeutic approach in both psychotherapeutic treatment and educational fields. The TSF manual includes a highly structured, behaviorally oriented group training approach for children aged eight to twelve, as well as a section for parent training. In ten sessions with the children and three parent training sessions, basic competencies for developing social skills are taught. Involving parents supports and facilitates the generalization of acquired competencies into the child's daily life.
