In times of ongoing urbanization, questions of urban sustainability are increasingly coming to the forefront, such as the relationship between humans and nature, and regarding coexistence and resource use in the city. With a particular focus on cultural-artistic and creative-innovative initiatives and projects, the contributors to this volume analyze a variety of strategies for sustainable development using the city of Hanover as a case study on macro, meso, and micro levels. They examine the potential of such projects, the networks in which they are realized, as well as the challenges in their implementation, and provide both an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research contribution, as well as ideas and action options for urban sustainability.
