Around the world, more and more DIY initiatives are emerging, where a variety of concerns and problems are collectively addressed. In these collaborative contexts, situated beyond market and state, a grassroots democratic understanding of coexistence and urbanity is being tested, while simultaneously searching for ecologically and socially meaningful solutions for fundamental forms of food and energy supply, as well as technology accessible to all.
