How can people who arrive in Germany fleeing war, persecution, hunger, and economic hardship exercise their rights to education and social participation? What are suitable formats of cultural education to raise awareness of the realities faced by refugees and to foster networking and solidarity? The contributions in this volume address these questions and demonstrate that cultural education is a field where many ambitious projects with refugees are being implemented. The phenomenon of flight thus offers opportunities for a power-sensitive and differentiated change in cultural and educational institutions and opens up chances for revising established routines of action.
