Whether individually designed wedding ceremonies, divorce rites, or independently developed meditations, healing rituals, and initiations – designed rituals are gaining increasing popularity. These newly created ritual complexes emerge from the combination of already known and new elements. The contributions in this volume specifically focus on the analytical and theoretical reflection of design processes that significantly shape the creation of rituals. Both contemporary and historical examples from various cultural and religious contexts are addressed.
