The aim of the EU research project "Cross-border sex-industry related crime prevention: Germany, Poland, Czech Republic" was to investigate how and whether police, public prosecutors, and civil society cooperate in the German-Polish-Czech border regions to combat human trafficking. Involved in the project were researchers from the universities of Leipzig and Warsaw, as well as Charles University in Prague. At the end of April 2007, the results were presented at an international conference in Leipzig, attended by approximately 70 representatives from the relevant institutions and the interior ministries of all three countries, alongside researchers. It was unanimously emphasized that the study holds significant relevance for mid-level and upper decision-making bodies, as well as for the European Union, as it accurately depicts the challenges and potential solutions for cross-border cooperation.
