"I left my son to take care of other kids." Transnational migration fundamentally changes the family life of care workers. Through interviews with Filipino migrant workers in Canadian households, a profound insight is provided into the social situation of these women who live in and between different life worlds. The book thus addresses the connections between reproductive work, female labor force participation, paid domestic work, and transnational labor migration. The core of the work is an exploratory-descriptive study that investigates the social situation of Filipino live-in caregivers in Calgary, Canada.
