The withdrawal of rail services from the landscape continues in Germany. However, it is not solely the responsibility of Deutsche Bahn AG; the respective state governments are also accountable for canceling passenger services on many routes. Wolfgang Fiegenbaum provides an overview of the routes in Germany where passenger services were discontinued from 2007 to 2017, organized by federal states, with each railway line being honored with a historical summary.
