The book addresses the necessary changes to the currently inadequate preparation situation for unaccompanied minor refugees and answers the question of what social pedagogical measures and concepts are required to provide them with the best possible starting opportunities for their personal and professional development in the host country, Germany. More and more youth welfare institutions are taking in a new target group that poses a particular challenge for them: unaccompanied minor refugees who are exposed to significant stress due to the loss of their homes and family members, as well as the traumas they have experienced. This entails a great responsibility for the staff working with these children and adolescents in the receiving youth welfare institutions.
