Illustrators and their Works 1913 to 1930. The second volume of "Dream Worlds," edited by Wolfgang Hermesmeier and Stefan Schmatz, chronologically follows the first part. While Volume I featured those artists who illustrated the works of Karl May during his lifetime, the subsequent volume now introduces the illustrators who first emerged between 1913 and 1930. There is a clear emphasis on the works of the brilliant illustrators Carl Lindeberg and Zdenek Burian, but the second volume of "Dream Worlds" also offers many rarities and numerous lesser-known artists to discover. Continuing the concept of the first volume, brief biographies are provided alongside a bibliographic documentation and commentary on the contributions of each painter and illustrator in relation to May. Once again, a selection of the best and most beautiful works is presented.
