"Timeout Africa" is a blend of diary and report. It is a narrative from my, from our everyday life in the extraordinary. We are Timo, my best friend, and I. Driven by a thirst for adventure and curiosity about the unknown, we traversed Africa from east to west. It was our first journey on motorcycles and our first trip to Africa. Together, we crossed political borders and discovered our own. The unforgettable moments include the beautiful landscapes, the wild animals in their natural habitat, the interesting people we met, the incredible roads, the Victoria Falls, and the Okavango Delta. However, many things went wrong: total breakdowns, having to tow each other with the motorcycles, contracting malaria, being left exhausted in the wilderness, failing to reach our planned destination, and being robbed. The book takes the reader along on our journey.
