After decades of intensive research, Ângela Furtado-Brum published the first comprehensive collection of the historically and culturally significant legends of the Azores in Portuguese. Regina Oberschelp de Meneses translated the traditional tales to help German-speaking visitors today better understand life on these islands between worlds. Geographically situated like a European Hawaii, the Azores are an autonomous region of Portugal and consist of nine uniquely shaped islands where culture and nature have been able to preserve their authenticity.
