Marc Bloom, 41, is a top manager of an international corporation. He increasingly suffers from the persistently questionable and morally dubious business practices. Emotionally drained, he decides to resign. His friend and lawyer arranges for him to take a several-month break as a research assistant in the remote mountain world of the High Alps. Alone in a former alpine hut, he spends the winter months conducting measurements on the glacier. However, what begins as a refreshing and consciousness-expanding experience suddenly turns into a relentless fight for survival when his past catches up with him.
