Four years have passed since Moritz, Anne, and Jakob experienced all sorts of exciting adventures. Perhaps you remember Mr. Onion Nose, who accidentally sold Moritz's grandma his thumb, or the chickens of neighbor Hahnemann, in whose nests suddenly stamped eggs were found. Now the three friends are in the 4th grade and have their hands full - for example, searching for Lena and Frechdachs, a girl and her pony that have gone missing in the woods; or hunting down an environmental vandal who simply dumps his trash in nature and causes a forest fire in the process. Julia, the new girl in class, quickly connects with the three friends thanks to Frieda and Mr. Neumann, the two love-struck guinea pigs. Together with Nene, a mischievous girl from the neighboring village, Moritz, Anne, Jakob, and Julia embark on an adventure in the middle of the night.
