On the remote world of P'hu-Tsa, people tell the legend of Tsapanthas on dark nights, who will one day descend from the stars to protect the Stone of Worlds from impending doom and save galactic humanity from destruction. Earth has been accepted as the youngest member of the Galactic Alliance of human peoples. Eight young individuals set out to the distant Gyxgares star cluster to gain practical experience for a year. However, instead of a year filled with routine obligations, they find themselves facing a smoldering conflict that seems to threaten peace throughout the entire star cluster and appears to be rooted deeper than it initially seems.
