The book is for children who are passionate about playing ice hockey, as well as for their parents who want to help them. Both are essential: the child must want to play, and the parents must want to support the child. Compared to soccer, ice hockey is not written about nearly as much in Germany; the travel to games and tournaments is much longer, equipment is more expensive, and so on. If the child and parents are not prepared for this, conflicts are hard to avoid. Therefore, parents and children should read this book to potentially use it as a basis for discussions and decisions. It is not a classic introductory book just for parents, like "The Rookie Hockey Mom" by Melissa Walsh, which only rudimentarily discusses wonderfully different aspects such as Equipment Manager Mom, Team Manager Mom, or Fan Mom for completely beginner parents.
