Bus Stop Brussels

The book title "Bus Stop Brussels" outlines the interdisciplinary approach to the study project "Typically German - Typically European." This workshop report cannot provide a definitive answer to the question of national or even European identity. However, similar to a bus stop where people from all over Europe meet, the students have sought a reference point, often with an empirical focus on a nation. The results of the reports are diverse and not easily defined. Nevertheless, the investigations are enlightening regarding the self and external images of a (European) nation, the question of urban identities in a merged district of Berlin, or when considering bilateral relationships. In this context, the facts have held up a mirror: "Stereotypes - Prejudices - Realities.".
