This earth science book aims to familiarize readers with geographical, geological, and other facts, as well as to inspire personal observation. It is therefore not a textbook in the conventional sense. However, it should not be overlooked that this type of presentation can lead to more learning than traditional textbooks. Additionally, the book covers areas and facts that are rarely found elsewhere. The texts are largely aligned with the educational standards of Baden-Württemberg, which have been enriched by numerous non-fiction books for greater academic breadth and more color and inspiration. The teaching material is given an extra boost through fictional dialogues between a grandfather and his grandson. Furthermore, memory and learning techniques are introduced that can radically enhance the retention of learning content. This benefits not only the geological information in the book.
