Product details

In March 2014, Crimea broke away from its territorial affiliation with Ukraine, which had been in place since 1954, and joined the Russian Federation. This was the moment when the peninsula, which had not received much international attention since the end of World War II, came into the spotlight and has since become a constant element of crisis in the daily news. But what is actually happening in Crimea? Who lives there? And how do they live? Did an annexation occur in 2014, as claimed in the West? Or was it a self-determined decision by the population, as is often emphasized by Russia? Upon closer examination, numerous uncertainties and contradictions regarding the current situation arise, prompting the author to travel to Crimea a few months ago to gain a firsthand understanding of the living conditions there.
