The land where the young wolf Slyver lives with his pack is ruled by strange creatures that threaten the lives of all its inhabitants. Driven underground by these flying shadows, the wolves lead a life filled with fear and darkness. One day, Slyver learns of a secret involving a young female wolf in the pack: she has brought a human into their burrows. When the pack discovers this human, the female wolf also finds herself in great danger. Slyver makes a fateful decision that leads him on an adventurous journey from which there is no return. In search of the remaining humans, they traverse the land to free it from the bondage of the shadows and their evil ruler, the Gryphnoc.
