They are all of legal age, after all. They should be able to sort this out on their own! At this point, my teacher was mistaken, just as she was with the assumption that students become more reasonable as they get older and understand what they inflict on others through bullying. The motto is: the older, the crueler. This is an experience I am not alone in having; I am just one of the few affected individuals who speaks about it publicly. But why, really? Anyone who reports on their experiences as a victim of bullying must reckon with professional consequences, live in fear of being perceived differently by friends, acquaintances, and colleagues, constantly face questions about the reasons or triggers, and be aware of the risk of becoming a victim of bullying once again, as most people tend to blame the victim themselves.
