Product details
The dreaming letters represent the correspondence of the soldier Eskel Jakobsen with his parents over a period of nearly one and a half years. Throughout these letters, hope runs like a red thread, wishing that the war would finally come to an end and that he could return home to his loved ones unharmed. However, he increasingly realizes that the situation he is in is worse than initially assumed. Yet, he never directly expressed this to his parents; instead, he tried to convey the situation to them between the lines, especially as he headed towards the Eastern Front. His letters dreamed of a swift end to the war, ultimately hoping to return home safely. Unfortunately, dreams do not always come true.
