In late 1974, the German-Colombian Elisabeth Held is diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, one of the most aggressive bone tumors. Just three months left. With a bit of luck, she hopes to celebrate Christmas with her family once more. Thanks to special circumstances and her strong will, everything turns out quite differently. The 19-year-old flies from Medellín to Germany for cancer treatment. At the newly founded Endo Clinic in Hamburg, her upper arm bone is removed and replaced with the prototype of a 'Mammut' endoprosthesis. It is the same functional endoprosthesis that she still wears over 40 years later. In colorful episodes, she shares stories about her life in various countries around the world and how she managed to incorporate cancer and the late effects of radiation therapy into her life, living with them rather than being defined by them.
