The goal of a spatial guiding concept is to identify qualities, support strengths, and simultaneously highlight and keep open development opportunities. In community, urban, and neighborhood development, the guiding concept process has established itself for developing visions for growth and for outlining development guidelines. As a strategic tool, the spatial guiding concept helps ensure that, in everyday planning and construction projects, the right and comprehensively coordinated decision-making bases are available early on, allowing for targeted resource allocation. The collaborative development and later implementation of a guiding concept is comparable to a journey where the destination is only vaguely known. A travel companion is therefore helpful and is provided here in the form of a Vademecum (Latin for "go with me"). Along 26 questions, the key issues are addressed.
