The critique of philosophical anthropology and the theoretical humanisms associated with it experienced an intellectual boom in the 1960s, accompanied by profound shifts in forms of knowledge and new discursive orders and practices. Structuralism dissolved the humanistic figure of the subject and allowed for its constitution to be thought of in terms of transindividual structures and processes. In authors like Foucault or Deleuze, the subject is not only an effect but constitutes itself through a continuous engagement with its (imaginary) boundaries. This brings with it not only epistemological implications but also political, ethical, and aesthetic dimensions, the significance of which only becomes apparent when linked to concepts of the dispositif and the regime of truth. The book questions the production of truth.
