As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Erikson, eagerly listening to the wild tales of a land far to the west. However, his youthful fantasies were shattered by a raid from mercenaries. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a fearsome warrior, relentlessly striving to kill the leader of the band, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Through his trials, Thorfinn holds onto his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile land in the west, a land free from war or slavery… the land that Leif called Vinland.
