This volume contains the two most famous case studies of the founder of psychoanalysis: the "Rat Man," written in 1909, and the "Wolf Man," recorded in 1914 but published only in 1918. The former owes his pseudonym to a sadistic obsession, referencing an Oriental punishment involving rats; the latter received his nickname due to a characteristic fear of wolves.
