This volume of the Library of Media Design addresses font recognition and classification, the readability of typefaces, and the creative as well as technical use of fonts. It also discusses font technology and font management. For this library, the topics from the Compendium of Media Design have been restructured, thoroughly revised, and presented in a compact format. Guidelines for this process included adapting to developments in the advertising and media industry, as well as considering current framework plans, study regulations, and examination requirements of educational and degree programs. The volumes of the Library of Media Design contain numerous practice-oriented tasks with sample solutions and are suitable as teaching and working books for schools and universities, as well as for self-study.
