Through his lectures and sermons, he provided guidance to sheep farmers and gardeners, university professors and doctors. In watercolors and poems, he captured joy and happy moments. He was known as a warning voice against anti-Semitism and dictatorship, and he expressed his discomfort with certain developments in his church through pointed caricatures. The latest volume, featuring previously unpublished texts, images, and drawings from Bishop Stecher's estate, includes important documents such as the detailed account of his arrest by the Gestapo at Easter 1941 and the "Serious Balance Sheet" of the 87-year-old.
