In 1857, the brothers Joseph and Ignaz Vinzenz Zingerle, who came from a well-known scholarly family in Vinschgau, presented their collection of "Children's and Household Tales from Tyrol" for the first time. This collection represents a unique treasure of traditional folk tales, similar to that of the Brothers Grimm, which received much attention at the time but then fell into obscurity for a long period. The renowned Tyrolean storyteller, Mrs. Wolle, has now taken on the challenge of bringing to light the most famous and interesting gems from this treasure, carefully freeing them from linguistic patina and retelling these stories full of timeless human wisdom in a contemporary form. The poetic, imagery-rich language resembles oral tradition, flows easily from the tongue, and appeals to both young and older readers as well as listeners alike.
