Synopsis: A casual collection of anecdotes and jokes, told by a guy who has no name, has never caught a mouse, and can do little more than watch people go about their activities.

About the Author: Born as Natsume Kinnosuke, Soseki grew up in a middle-class family at the beginning of the Meiji era. After receiving extensive training in English, Chinese, and Japanese literature, Soseki taught English at the University of Tokyo. In 1907, he gave up teaching to focus on writing and published many books, including Botchan, The Three-Cornered World, and Mon. He died in 1916 in Tokyo.
