Kelly McGonigal, PhD, is a health psychologist and lecturer at Stanford University, as well as the author of the international bestseller "The Will for Self-Control." As a leading figure in the field of "science-help," McGonigal is passionate about translating the latest research findings from psychology, neuroscience, and medicine into practical strategies for health, happiness, and personal success. McGonigal has taught a variety of programs at Stanford University, including at the Medical School, the Graduate School of Business, and Stanford Continuing Studies, where her popular public courses "The Science of Willpower" and "How to Think Like a Psychologist" are offered. She received Stanford University's highest teaching award, the Walter J. Gores Award, for her undergraduate teaching in psychology.
